Learn to Camp

in partnership with Ontario Parks

No experience? No problem! Join Ontario Parks leaders and fellow new campers on an overnight camping trip, where you and your family will learn all you need to know to become confident campers. Learn how to set-up camp, how to build a campfire, hear advice from the experts and more.

Ontario Parks is running several 3-day, 2 night sessions in Grundy Lake Provincial Park and Six Mile Lake Provincial Park with transportation from Toronto provided by Parkbus. For $130.75 per up to 6 people, this is an amazing deal and a great opportunity to experience camping in one of Ontario's most beautiful parks.

What is provided by the Ontario Parks:

  • Tent, air mattresses, sleeping bags, camping stove, pans, pots, chairs, and all other camping and cooking equipment
  • A campsite for up to 6 participants, including children
  • Access to flush toilets, hot showers and drinking water
  • Scheduled family-friendly activities and learning sessions, led by experienced Ontario Parks staff.
  • Campfire treats
  • One bag of ice and one bag of firewood
  • Free time to enjoy the park facilities - hiking trails, the beach, fishing (license required), etc.


  • This is a two night experience - see Grundy Lake page for available dates. Learn to Camp is offered on all dates listed on this page, except October.
  • Campsite checkout out time is 2:00pm on the final day, but participants may enjoy the park facilities until the park closes for the day.


  • Cost to participate $130.75 + HST per group of up to 6 people, including children
  • Transportation Costs: $30-70 per person depending on ticket type (child/senior/studednt/adult). Use discount code supplied by the Ontario Parks when booking your Parkbus tickets. The tickets purchased with discount code are only valid for Learn to Camp participants.

Who can participate?

  • Learn to Camp overnight sessions are open to anyone who is new to camping
  • Graduates of the program who would like more experience are encouraged to sign up for our new graduates program.

Please note

  • Pets are not permitted at Learn to Camp sessions.
  • All sessions are offered in English.


  • To register, fill out the Learn to Camp Request to Participate form.
  • Once your participation in the program is confirmed by Ontario Parks, book your Parkbus tickets with discount code provided by Ontario Parks. Tickets purchased with discount code only valid for Learn to Camp participants.
